Noogler

Since I only post when I feel like I have something to say, the fact that it's been over 4 months since my last set of posts might make people think I haven't had a lot to say recently. That would be incorrect. I have had a lot to say, but little time to say it.

After much hemming and hawing, my wife and I decided to take a job offer from Google, and move to the Boston area. I start on Monday, Sept 15.

It wasn't an easy decision, but I think it's the right one.

First of all, I am excited as anything to go work for Google. They are an excellent company, a great place to work, and I think I'll have something I haven't had in a long time at a job -- challenge. But it was an extremely difficult decision for a number of reasons. I won't get into the reasons here. My close friends and family already understand.

In the meantime, I am not sure what direction this blog will move. I have been semi tinkering on some OSS projects since the Google option came up, and I'll have to see if that continues when I get to Google. Additionally, I'm not talking much about what I'll be doing when I get to Google, but I think it will be a departure from what I've done in the past.

Wish me luck.
